Oct 2015 wk4: Mid-week update on Korean brands

Etude House‘s In The Cafe 10-color eyeshadow palette – an online exclusive – is sold out. Their website will restock 2000 units on Thursday October 29, at 9 am KST. Etude House’s Gmarket storefront briefly had a sale and coupon for 13,000 won palettes, down from its retail price of 22,000 won.

Within the past 2 days, A’Pieu has come out with two new product lines. The first is the Sugar Melting Tint. It’s supposed to be highly moisturizing, and leaves a tint behind even after the product has been rubbed away. It contains sugar cane extract, cocoa seed butter, and also “White Flower Complex”. This White Flower Complex is a collection of extracts from various white flowers: jasmine, chamomile, snow lotus, daisy, Madonna lily, freesia, heartleaf, edelweiss, and freesia.

The Sugar Melting Tint is the newest version of the sugar tint trend. Already present in the market are Etude House’s Sugar Tint Balm, Aritaum has their Ginger Sugar Tint Lip Balm, and Fresh Korea has their Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment. A’Pieu’s tints are available in six colors, which are the standard Korean range of reds, pinks, and oranges.

The second product line from A’Pieu is the Honey&Milk Lip Care line. It’s a 3-step lip care program: daily lip balm, nightly lip sleeping pack, and weekly lip scrub. The promotional images are showing honey, milk, and Vitamin E as points of interest. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be anything terribly special about this line, other than the fact that it contains honey.

Primera is carrying a 40,000 won Halloween edition kit from its Baby line. It includes a random choice of a carrying tin (witch, ghost, or Frankenstein), two sheets of stickers, a lip balm, and a sunscreen cushion.

Beyond‘s Rich Color Lipstick will be on sale for 4,900 won each, on Sunday, October 25. It normally retails for 14,000 won.

Three new base makeup products from Clio: the Airwear Protexture Foundation, Liquid Founwear BB Cream, and Kill Cover Liquid Founwear Ampoule Cushion. Only the cushion is currently available on Clio’s website.

Their promotional images are also showing an Inner Holding Brush, which looks … interesting. Personally, I don’t see how this is an improvement over dabbing base makeup all over the face, and smoothing it out with a regular brush, but then again, I’m not a makeup professional.

Well, that’s my attempt at a midweek update on Korean brands. I’m not sure if I’ll continue it, or if I can even keep track of all the new stuff. We’ll see!
